Your vehicle’s AC not working is most likely caused by a failing compressor or a freon leak. While these may be the obvious reasons that your air-conditioner isn’t cooling in the vehicle, it could also be something as simple as a dirty cabin filter or a bad belt. The most likely reason the AC isn’t working is your car’s AC is leaking. Your car’s AC unit needs freon to cool the ambient air temperature and creates needed cold air. The air-conditioning system is powered by the engine, the AC isn’t getting any power if your car is in EV mode and the engine isn’t running.
If your AC is on but the fan isn’t blowing then there might be a blown AC fuse. Fuses protect car components from a possible power surge and while it might just have to get replaced, if your air-conditioning fuse continues to pop then you likely have a much larger issue.
